Roman Geometric Pattern

For this design I collected 7-8 images from the Roman period between 200 BC and AD 400. I then used Adobe Photoshop to manipulate them beyond recognition. From there I input these images into a pattern to create a design with an analogous color scheme. I find that although my designs comes through well on the color image, on the gray scale the contrast is confusing in places, especially the center focal point. Most of the images I selected in this piece were of the architecture so I wish I had used some of their artwork back then for some variety in the piece. In manipulating the images I found using filters was my favorite tool and combining them made some very interesting visual interest.
